Henna is a life-giving and therapeutic experience for anyone who wants to get in touch with their inner self. It has a history of spirituality stretching back thousands of years, and is probably the oldest art form known to man, practised at weddings, births and festivals across South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa long before it reached the West.

It is also the most natural and painless way to get a temporary tattoo. There are no needles and nothing breaks the skin. The paste sits on the surface, stains the top layer, and fades naturally over one to two weeks as your skin renews itself.

Our henna is completely organic and safe for the skin. We mix it ourselves from dried, ground leaves of Lawsonia inermis, lemon juice and essential oils, then load it into a cellophane cone that becomes the artist’s tool. There are no chemicals and no preservatives in it, which is why we can use it on children and on expectant mothers.

What we will never use is so-called black henna. It contains PPD, a chemical found in hair dye, and it causes blistering, chemical burns and permanent scarring. Real henna stains in shades of orange, red and brown, never black.
